Marion Farmhouse International School
The Marion Farmhouse School – a scouting school.
Starched in the green and serene coffee plantation, the Marion Farmhouse School was started in the year 2000. Having successfully run the Marion Preparatory School from 1983, the directors felt the need to start a small school by design. As such, the Marion Farmhouse School is purposely a one-stream school with a maximum class capacity of 29 learners. This facilitates heightened interaction between the learners and the teacher thus creating an enriching learning experience. Driven by our clarion mantra, we strongly believe that a good school is not known by her seating capacity but her sending capacity. Good things are best served in small doses.
Our sister school, the Marion Preparatory School had a scouting club. The learners in the scouting club were always organized, smart and always stood out from the rest. Therefore when Marion Farmhouse School started, Marion Farmhouse School was so inspired to make scouting our life style by making it compulsory to all learners from Grade 1 onwards. The scouting culture and ideals make our school easy to manage as we use the Scouts’ Law as our school rules.
In keeping with the educational reforms, we have fully embraced the new competency-based curriculum. We now have a new CBC Block that hosts our CBC classes in a friendly and spacious environment. Our school has CBC resource rooms and a fertile shamba for Science, Technology & Agriculture projects. We have an orchard farm, bee-keeping, a poultry farm and dairy farming projects all of which learners use to enrich their classroom experiences.

Boarding life
Marion Farmhouse boarding promotes responsibility the same way the learner's home would have done. This is because the boarding facility is a home...actually an extended family complete with a house mum, dad, aunts, uncles and grandmother. The learners treat each other as either younger or elder siblings. Children perform duties similar to the ones performed at home...attending to the farm, removing peas, praying and playing together. Tea is prepared with milk from school farm while the poultry farm provides chicken and eggs.
School Environment
When you think of a boarding school, think of a home. Just like their natural home, Farmhouse boarding is a conducive environment that spurs a holistic growth of a child. Marion Farmhouse boarding offers a homely environment to bring up a child. Through its warmth, it always tunes the mind of learners ready to learn. The boarding facility has a natural environment that completes the trails of nature...with primates, mango, guava and avocado trees where children pick fruits.
